Yes -- I know this is what I signed up for when I said "I do"... but I just did not realize the amount of *** that is played witihin this company.

It must be nice to have a brand new store that you can be gone all the time. You are a salaried employee but without that bonus barely surviving. Golfing a couple times a month on the company's dollar must be nice, sign me up! Leaving your store behind and "working" all day while drinking on the clock must also be a very nice perk!

But what about the wives who are uprooted from their life to move to some place miles away from their home. Why isn't there a program in place for these wives of the company that have to stand beside their man for any and every company event. We do not have the choice, from words of a fellow manager "that would be career suicide" for your wife not to not go with you. As a wife to a new manager at a new store, I have to sit back and laugh.

There are dozens of company seminars and traning, how about training these managers with life skills that will accomadate their life at home? How to be a husband at work and not at work? From the group of husbands I have been around in the "new area" I have noticed it across the board. Selfish men who get to dress up and be the boss at work, do what they want and then try to bring that mindset home.

There are some serious issues within this company as far as being a family business. Or hey maybe it is just my husband who thinks playing golf and drinking all day then going out with his fellow managers and drinking more is the way life works?

I am not sure?! But I know that this wife is ready to say goodbye to the good old Les Schwab Life!

I do understand some of what you are saying. Having to pack up and move away from "your home" is not ideal in most cases.

But things to remember, home to me is where your family is. It has nothing to do with the house you live in, or the trailer you live in, or the box live in. Home is where your heart is.

And as for the last part, I think it would be safe to assume no business encourages, asks, or even tolerates (knowingly), drinking on the job.

It sounds like your husband is the bigger issue than the company is. Leave one any you'll leave the other it sounds like.

I can give you suggestions all day long but in the end you need to find a happy medium or you won't make it. If not, you might as well get out and go back to "your home"
