In the past they did a good job aligning my Corvette so I went in to talk to them about tires for my Lexus. They said they couldn't get original tires but had some as good but cheaper ($80) with a 30 day return policy. I tried them for 3 days and they were awful, howling all the time on the road. I took them back and told them I should get the original tires somewhere else. They said they'd give me the Tire Rack price $143 each)on some tires that were quieter and better. I tried these for a week and they didn't howl but had a constant humming sound so I took them back.

The manager told me I could buy tires elsewhere and bring back the ones I had just bought or I could have them shipped to Les Schwab and they would put the new ones on. I called America's Tire Store but decided it would be easier for Les Schwab to do the work and had tires shipped to them. After they put them on, they charged me $170 ($42.50/tire) for mounting and balancing. They had only charged $12.50 when it was their tires! So I ended up having to pay an extra $120 because I didn't buy the tires from them. I could have saved that money if I had bought the original ones from America's Tire store...so it was basically a $120 ripoff.

The manager seemed like a nice guy but it's apparent that they decided to rip me off once they found out that I wasn't going to buy tires at their store. I brought this up to him and he agreed that he should have told me the price ahead of time and I could have saved the money by buying at America's Tire Store. This turned a decent experience into a bad one. The 30 day return policy sounds good until you have to pay a lot more for their services if you don't buy their tires---in this case over $120.

And they don't have very good tires either. I wanted quiet summer tires and they kept putting on All Season tires. I was later told that they couldn't get the original tires I wanted because they were on back order (though I got them from Tire Rack in 2 days) but I'd have waited if they had told me this in the first place. Obviously, they just wanted to sell me their brand of tire to make a higher profit. When this didn't happen, they just decided to charge me extra.

I had gone to Les Schwab for a simple brake adjustment to tighten my rear [drum] brakes before pulling a 5th. wheel for a 3 week vacation.

They refused to tighten/ adjust my brakes unless I paid for a complete tear down to inspect my bearings! That was with less then 75000 miles! What a scam! I just turned 204000 miles and replaced my bearings!

130000 miles later I've never been back to another Les Schwab so they can attempt a scam..... SCAM ARTISTS IS WHAT I SAY.....

Wow. You obviously have some anger issues.

I hope you're not in the customer service business. That's what Les Schwab is by the way "customer service". At least that's what they are selling in their advertising.

When you are buying something and spending a decent amount of money and someone asked for a specific type of tire and is given something not close you'd expect some kind of accomodation to keep the customer coming back. I guess if you're used to be treated horribly Les Schwab is the place for you.

You sir are the kind of *** who goes to companies and wastes their time complaining over frivolous matters that can never be rectified. You are the *** who is never satisfied.

Nothing is good enough for you in life. You enjoy being catered too and waited on.

This company is clearly bending over backwards to meet your needs and ensure your satisfaction then you have the audacity to submit a complaint? Get a *** life you loser

you complain that they charged you extra for mounting etc. when you bought tires from another dealer?

are you kidding? have you ever heard of companies being in competition? how do you think it would pan out if you went to the grocery store and bought a steak, then walked into a restaurant and asked them to prepare and serve it to you? i haven't ever been brave enough to try it, but i don't see it going over well.

why should it be any different for a tire store?

SAME is right about availability, every company has their own exclusive brands, which makes it difficult sometimes for others to purchase. get a clue and realize that companies stay in business by selling their product, not by installing other's

This isn't a steak dinner. This is a warranty issue they took advantage of so they didn't lose money on their noisy tires.

This was a Lexus..... Not a 4x4!

Hello stupid lets take a look at the hole picture of Les Schwab... Scandalous!

your charge was for dismounting, mounting, balancing, and wheel switching the tires. most of which is included with their tires.

the fact that you had them do that work was your choice.

which you stated. as far as the availability of the factory tires, tire companies stock different brands so those were probably not available to les schwab.
