Les Schwab Tire Centers - Manager Review from Mount Laurel, New Jersey
At the Kenmore Store got a quote for new tires and wheels and purchased only new wheels electing to buy the tires from Costco a far better quality tire at a much better price. I wrntvin snd picked up the wheels and was questioned by the sales person about the tires and told them that I elected to purchase tires at Costco.
When I got home I got a call from the store manager again questioning my decision and then he pointed out that over many years he has fixed nine flats for me at no charge and that hsince he lost the tire order that he would no longer provide this service to me even though they do this for every customer even after I just spent $1600 at his store for new wheels. I told him i would never spend another nickel at any Les Schwab Store. I will take all my business to their competitors.
I contemplated taking the wheels back and buying them from their competitors but decided yo keep them and just move on. They have lost me as a customer for good!
Reason of review: Poor customer service.

You were a terrible customer, les schwab has been fixing your flats for free for years and you decide to go someplace else for tires. You have no loyalties for a company that has been loyal to you.
Wrong! I worked at Les Schwab and even though 99% of the mangers are horrible team leaders & my assistant manager didn't even know how to do the work that he would try to correct me on, I never heard of a manager calling a customer directly to disrespect them about a lost tire sale!
That manager was so out of line! Yes we fix flats for free in hopes that it builds loyalty but this man bought wheels which aren't cheap! So all those flat fixes were just paid for x10! Problem with les schwab is that all the managers are arrogant & forget that these customers don't owe us anything!
We work for them and the mentality that people should pay more bcuz we did our job is assinine! Seriously if Ur good at Ur job a flat fix takes 15mins!
Yes it sucks when Ur busy to have a free service in the mix but maybe we should worry more about the top pay people standing around with their thumbs up their *** instead of proving they're worth that top pay. With the example the manager set, I'm guessing its normal practice in this shop to disrespect the customer & then lose even more sales by going against everything Les Schwab USED to stand for!
Be careful about buying tires at Costco or WalMart, etc. Even tho they are brand name tires, they may be made to their specs, which can be much different(cheaply-made)than the brand name tires you buy elsewhere.
Stores like WalMart, etc. can sell name brand tires cheaper because the tires are made cheaper. As for your experience at the Les Schwab store, you should not complain as they have to sell products in order to make a profit, etc. They lost a tire sale and they decide whether or not to fix a puncture for free or not.
It's their business. Good luck getting a puncture fixed when it happens.
Around here, they charge something like $35 to put a plug in. Prepare thyself.
